Description

'Those paper works, I did them myself.  Non-Aboriginal people brought the technique and showed us how we could do our cross-hatching on them.  We would do the engraving and they would print them. A lot of artists made these etchings.  We had a workshop at Nangak outstation at the Djinkarr Ranger Station and they showed us how to make them there. Appoline's father Jean kohen, who makes engravings, he also came and we made those works on paper'  John Mawunrdjul, from the catalogue: John Mawurndjul: I am the Old and the New, 2018, MCA
