Description

One of Australia's most highly regarded contemporary painters, Dale Hickey creates works that occupy a position between figuration and abstraction. Often taking the environment of his artist studio as a basis for his mostly large-scale minimalist compositions, Hickey considers the formal qualities of objects and shapes in space, reducing elements like easels, tables and other paintings to elements in an abstracted arrangement of forms.
