Description

Jeremy Kirwan-Ward is one of Western Australia's foremost artists. For the last thirty years his work has revolved around his connection with a coastal existence- paintings that evoke the complexities of weather and the endlessness of spectral phenomena. While predominantly determined by colour, outcomes are a result of solving problems, so intuition rides alongside formal structure. He has worked with silk-screen prints, sculpture, photography and digital prints but remains, very much, a painter. In addition to his individual practice, he works collaboratively with his life partner, Helen Smith, producing large-scale wallworks.
