Description

'Making this work was an incredible struggle of imagining processes of drawing in reverse, a half-grasped sense of some kind of story and imagery of the past coming out, and my often strong sense of another artist near me, in this case Nolan and the Kelly series. All of this memory stuff is very involuted, confused, physical. I hacked and scraped the wood to literally embed a whole jumble of half-baked drawings that were just a field of associations in relation to the final form of the work. It was a very exhilarating piece to do!'
